 Thursdays from 7.15 to 9.30 pm - Army Cadets

The aim of the Army Cadet Force is to provide stimulating and challenging pastimes for our young people and the Cadet Force Motto is to “inspire to achieve”.  Our cadets participate in a wide variety of activities which range from military training (including living outdoors), citizenship training, full bore and small bore shooting and a range of sporting activities which include, swimming, cross country, football and tug of war to name but a few. Many have the chance to earn sporting colours at County, District and National level.  They will be taught St John Ambulance skills and be encouraged to join the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and BTec Schemes. The latter three are all recognized civilian qualifications and will be very useful to our young people, whatever career path they choose to follow. Rothwell Art & Heritage Centre, 14-16 Bridge Street

The Centre is looking for more volunteers to help out, and for Friends of the Centre - by becoming a Friend you are entitled to discounted entrance fees to events, along with many other benefits.  The Centre is open every morning from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm except Sundays and Bank Holidays and  has a vintage cafe.  

An Art Exhibition is in place in the Art Gallery and consists of paintings by various artists, sculptures and pottery. 

The Rowell Heritage Newsletter is available at the Centre at a cost of £2.  If any members of the community would like to include articles and interesting items in the newsletter, please call in at the Heritage Centre.  For more details contact the Arts & Heritage Centre on 01536 711550.
