 Thursdays from 7.15 to 9.30 pm - Army Cadets

The aim of the Army Cadet Force is to provide stimulating and challenging pastimes for our young people and the Cadet Force Motto is to “inspire to achieve”.  Our cadets participate in a wide variety of activities which range from military training (including living outdoors), citizenship training, full bore and small bore shooting and a range of sporting activities which include, swimming, cross country, football and tug of war to name but a few. Many have the chance to earn sporting colours at County, District and National level.  They will be taught St John Ambulance skills and be encouraged to join the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and BTec Schemes. The latter three are all recognized civilian qualifications and will be very useful to our young people, whatever career path they choose to follow. Rothwell Art & Heritage Centre

The Centre is looking for more volunteers to help out, and for Friends of the Centre - by becoming a Friend you are entitled to discounted entrance fees to events, along with many other benefits.

The Centre now  has a vintage tea room which holds afternoon teas on every third Saturday of each month and a coffee morning on the first Saturday of every month.  The team room is open every day for coffee.

An Art Exhibition is in place in the Art Gallery and consists of paintings by various artists, sculptures and pottery. 

The Rowell Heritage Newsletter is now available at the Centre at a cost of £1.  If any members of the community would like to include articles and interesting items in the newsletter, please call in at the Heritage Centre.

A WW2 exhibition is being planned at the Centre to celebrate the 70th anniversary of D-Day.  The volunteers at the Centre would appreciate the help of the public with any memorabilia that could be donated or loaned to the Centre, and they want to concentrate on the Rothwell Community at War and would therefore like information and articles relating to local life during the war.

  Harborough Singers in Concert.

 On Saturday, 8th October at 7.30 pm the Harborough Singers will be holding a concert in Holy Trinity Parish Church, Squires Hill,  Rothwell.   Tickets are complimentary but there will be retiring collection.
